Why and How the Brand Evolved

In 2022, we returned to our roots and updated our name to Kentico. There are three reasons why we decided to make this change:

  1. The new structure of our company and entrance of investors

    • Kentico was founded in 2004 by Petr Palas. Originally a content management system (CMS), the product has since evolved to meet the needs of the market. It is no longer just a CMS. With the addition of digital marketing and commerce capabilities, it is a flexible digital experience platform (DXP) that helps you grow.
    • As well as investing into the DXP, we also created a headless CMS. In 2020, we split the company into two divisions, Kentico Xperience (DXP) and Kontent by Kentico (headless CMS), to allow us to focus on our two products. In 2022, the two divisions became two separate companies as we welcomed investors to help us grow. Now we are Kentico (Kentico Software s.r.o.) focused on developing our DXP further and Kontent.ai s.r.o operates independently.
    • Today, the CEO of Kentico is Dominik Pintér while Petr Palas still owns the majority of both companies and is Chairman of the Board.

  2. Kentico Xperience was still known as and called "Kentico"

    • Back in 2020, when we split the company, we rebranded to Kentico Xperience to distinguish between our two products. However, due to Kentico’s long-standing presence in the market, not all customers, partners, and analysts made the transition with us.
    • The creation of two companies in 2022 provided an opportunity to become Kentico once again. We embraced the heritage of Kentico while building a whole new company on the strong foundations of the original brand—the “new” Kentico.
  3. We wanted to embrace the perfect combination of the original Kentico legacy and the "new" Kentico innovation

  • We've decided to embrace the legacy and heritage of the original Kentico and Kentico CMS while highlighting the uniqueness of our win-win-win mentor approach and our innovative product Xperience by Kentico—a future-proof SaaS DXP that’s flexible, reliable, and fast.


So what has changed?

  • Brand name changed from Kentico Xperience back to Kentico
  • Our vision and mission to clearly state the new direction of our company
  • The introduction of a new brand archetype/character - Mentor
  • Updated tone of voice that supports our Mentor approach
  • New visual style showcasing the perfect combination of Kentico heritage and Mentor innovation and wisdom
